Sunday, September 21, 2008This yEAR is a special one, one which i spent my birthday abroad!! And indeed it was special..not only did i get wishes from friends in singapore, my colleagues gave me surprise 'party' at work too...wonderful!! To begin with, who else but the guys....as most years, john n mine birthday celebrations are held tgt! And being miles away did not stop them from planning a webcam party...looking into the camara and taking photos with john n the rest has to be really corny and for a moment i felt like an altar!! BUt i was really glad to be talking to them, poking fun at em and vice versa...haha...too bad i couldnt play winning huh!!haha...thanks for the cake which i didnt eat,but i got the birthday song!!haha And my wonderful colleagues whom have since become my best friends in china!! They got me a cake and purposely planned a surprise for me...haha..songyi came to my department telling me something cropped up and asked me go with him, ok, brought me to the training room..and TADA...all of em were there..haha!! Its weird celebrating bdae in the office...but yea,appreciate it lots...they had to find time, borrow fridge, gather ppl and zl had to carry the cake frm home(shag!thanks)!Thanks to all Venture Gip:))
Bday Present!!  And heres the present the Venture guys and my housemates gave me!! A really nice cardigan from C&A!thanks again!All in all i had a great time this year, not forgetting i also got a cake from my family through webcam as well, lotsa love from abroad and here as well...thanks! 5:20 PMSunday, September 07, 2008 Went Ice-skating last weekend with the Venture people, it was really fun and it seems ive become better...though still rather nube at it!haha...Ice skating shoes are never confortable for me, this time round as well...playing with all the pain eventually gave me blisters ard my ankle!ouch....but yea, reminds me of all the times i hanged around the JEC iceskating ring in my sec/jc days..playing Photohunt with my friends...haha KTV is always a good place for gatherings...and great for hanging out after a day's work!!haha...We headed down to HaoLeDi(china's edition of Kbox!) on wed after work!! Armed with beer, and cards and of cuz the never ending song list...we had fun playing bridge and indian poker, and i found a singin partner(songyi)..belting out all the hard rock songs!haha..I guess i got sick of going home straight from work everyday, ktv was a good change...helps lighten up the mood...  Food stall selling bbq pigeon!  Humongous 'Tang yuan' i had.. After lesson on sat, went down to 七宝town with songyi n zl's housemates, oh n collin!! Its a old town with old kinda buildings and a small river running through it!! Might not be as beautiful as other old cities in china, but what got me was how the town was blended into the modern infrastructure-as if its living in its own world. At night, it was dinner with my housemates!! Tiong and ah goh brought me to a really nice buffet, Happy House!! Had sashimi overload and haegan-daz overstuffed and many many others...I had a great time with em, as always!! Living abroad has really been made easier with my fellow cdos around, brothers to depend on!!
